I am S.K Abdul Wahid- Your Tour Guide To Simlipal National Park.
Simlipal to me is like a second home. After spending almost 26 years in these woods, taking around tourists around the jungles and sharing the speciality, folklores, and uniqueness of the Simlipal, I always feel fortunate enough to have spent my life in the lap of nature.
I believe that by spreading the awareness about the exotic flora and fauna of Simlipal to those who come here to unwind themselves in the tranquillity of nature, which to me is one of the best gifts of my life, I am returning my favour to this nature. From year 1992, I have made sure that who so ever visits Simlipal is able to enjoy and appreciate this place, feel comfortable and leaves with all memorable and happy memories.
Sheikh Abdul Wahid has spent almost his entire life in offering the best of tour guide facilities. He shares a unique bond with this place and no wonders this unique bond made him explore 60-70% of Simlipal on foot. It is the time spent amidst these woods that make him one of the best tour guides. In fact, he has been part of coverage done by National Geographic Team, Discovery and will soon be seen at History Channel’s special program on Odisha airing between 21st March- 31st March.
I visited Simlipal along with my friends in Feb 2018 and it was only for our Tour Guide Mr.Wahid that , not only did we see all places of tourist interest within simlipal, we also visited the Orchid Farm at Gudgudia as well as were able to spot and photograph a lot of Wild life . He knows Simlipal like the back of his hand and it was indeed a pleasure listening to his experience of the Jungle

Abdul Wahid took care of all our travel arrangements as he has his own vehicles and stayed with us in the forest guest house and showed us a lot of wild life in the early morning. Also metionable is the fact that he is a great cook and only for him did we enjoy a great dinner as the food available in the guest houses within Simlipal are very basic

I will recommend Abdul Wahid to each tourist visiting Simlipal. it may be a day trip or an extended stay within the jungle, with Wahid by your side, you have no worries. He is your one man army at Simlipal , your guide,driver,cook, host..everything . An extremely helpful and resourceful man and with his very professional team is an invaluable asset for you during your jungle safari

For us , Wahid is Simlipal . He booked our accomodation in Jashipur and took us into the jungle in his vehicle to visit places like the famour waterfall of Barehipani and Joranda and we visited Chahala in the evening where Wahid showed us a lot of wild life before returning to our hotel in Jshipur. Next day early morning he drove us again to Simlipal and we visited a lot of other places including a tribal market place within the Santuary. Will be recommending him to my friends and family
